Access to Mental Health Initiative
During Council’s annual Shared Planning process in 2011, access to mental health was identified as a priority. A stakeholder's meeting was later held to garner feedback from the community. Acknowledging that mental health funding is inadequate, a Core Team of partner agencies formed to develop the Access to Mental Health Initiative. The mission of the initiative is to improve access to available mental health services for Washington County residents. The vision is that all residents of Washington County seeking, or in need of, mental health services shall have available complete and accurate resource information to better access services.
Thanks to the efforts of our Core Team, we are pleased to present our Mental Health Resource Guide. The Guide can be accessed through the website or for copies, please contact Family & Children First at 740-376-7081. The Core Team will continue their efforts on "access to mental health" and welcome community input and support.
